Prayer Requests for Guatemala and The Shalom Foundation

Thanksgiving:

We are thankful successful surgery trip in January.  A team from Children’s Hospital Colorado worked in the surgery center in Guatemala City and operated on 38 kids.  They all are recovering now with no complications.

Prayer

Please pray for the upcoming surgery trip in February. A team from Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt will be performing surgeries.  This is a team for general surgery.  2 students from Belmont School of Pharmacy will be onsite to run the ‘Farmacia’ at the surgery center (Connie and Mackenzie).

Please pray for a small team of “I.T. Geeks”. These folks will be working on our computer and phone system at the surgery center as well as preparing Casa Trinidad for electronics. Casa Trinidad is a home for families to stay while their kids have surgery. The team will also work at the Las Conchas School and will build beds for a local orphanage.

Please pray for the upcoming surgery trip in March. A team from Guatemala Healing Hands Foundation will be performing surgeries.  This is their first trip with us.

Please pray for the neighborhood of Las Canoas. We visited in January and will return in Feb to come up with a long term plan of action for community development.  We will be meeting with the pastor of the church in the neighborhood.
