03/13/12 - 03/17/12 Community Development Trips in Kingsport Presbyterian Church and Living Waters for the World Las Conchas, Guatemala City
A team from Kingsport Presbyterian and Living Waters for the World will be in Guatemala visiting sites for future system installations as well as annual maintenance on the current systems.
02/08/12 - 02/14/12 Community Development Trips in I.T. team Moore Pediatric Surgery Center
A team traveled to Guatemala to wire Casa Trinidad for phone and internet service as well as provide annual maintenance to the computer/phone system at the surgery center. They built bunk beds for the Hope For Tomorrow Children’s Home as well as completed installation of razor wire at the Las Conchas School. Related post.
11/11/11 - 11/19/11 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 4 the neighborhood of Las Conchas
Members lead by West Franklin Baptist Church will work in Las Conchas preparing community property as well as work on the ongoing rehab project of Casa Trinidad in the city. Casa Trinidad is our new home for families to stay while their children have surgeries at the center. Team members will work on rehab of Casa Trinidad and will also be doing some projects in Las Conchas. A team of graduating high school seniors form First Baptist Nashville will be taking their annual mission trip to work in Las Conchas. They will be sanding and painting over 300 school desks. Related post.
07/19/11 - 07/24/11 Community Development Trips in Clean Water System Installation Team Moore Pediatric Surgery Center
Team from Living Waters for the World and Franklin TN Rotory will install a clean water system at the Las Conchas School. They will also provide maintenance of the systems at Shalom School and the Moore Pediatric Surgery Center. Related post.

03/03/11 - 03/12/11 Community Development Trips in Vanderbilt University – Project Pyramid the neighborhood of Las Conchas
Project Pyramid creates a community that addresses issues of poverty in an interdisciplinary classroom and through sustained partnerships with local and international organizations. Its members learn to recognize multiple poverties from one another in the classroom and from individuals and organizations that encounter poverties first hand. Students respond to knowledge gained in the classroom and through collaborative partnerships by engaging in action to alleviate poverty. Related post.
01/26/11 - 01/30/11 Community Development Trips in Living Waters for the World – Clean Water Installation Moore Pediatric Surgery Center
Team will complete installation and will activate clean water system at the Moore Pediatric Surgery Center. They will also review program at the Shalom School. Finally they will initiate program at Las Conchas School by formally executing the covenants.
01/03/11 - 01/04/11 Community Development Trips in Vanderbilt University – Project Pyramid the neighborhood of Las Conchas
2 faculty members are on a ‘planning’ trip to Guatemala to get ready for the annual “Project Pyramid” trip in the Spring of 2011. This group is made up of business students. They are researching business ideas to help alleviate poverty.

47 team members churches in the Nashville area partnered together with the Shalom Foundation and traveled to Guatemala to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the Las Conchas community just outside of Guatemala City. Coming together with all power and authority given by Christ to continue the work of the great commission. 04/08/10 - 04/16/10 Community Development Trips in Vanderbilt’s ‘Project Pyramid’ the neighborhood of Las Conchas
A group of 17 folks from Vanderbilt’s “Project Pyramid” came to stuffy the neighborhood of Las Conchas. They created a report of future projects for us including cheaper and safer housing initiatives, and microfinance programs. Related post.
07/24/09 - 08/01/09 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 2 the neighborhood of Las Conchas
This housing team consisted of 26 participants that worked to complete construction of the six homes. Several team members from Southeastern University led a cheerleading clinic for the girls at Shalom School. Team members also shared their knowledge and love of children with the staff at Shalom School during their week in Guatemala. Team highlights also include distribution of over 200 pairs of shoes to children, delivering bulk food items to several families without any food in their homes and hosting a community wide picnic. 06/25/09 - 07/04/09 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 1 the neighborhood of Las Conchas
In 2009 two housing mission teams combined to build six homes for needy families in the Las Conchas area of Guatemala City. The team consisted of 35 participants who used their gifts and talents to do far more than just build homes. Team members delivered 2,000 pounds of needed supplies to extremely poor families. Their evangelism introduced many to the love of Christ. The team hosted a community wide picnic which gave them an opportunity to meet many of the families that live in the area and to share their love for God. Related post.
07/25/08 - 08/02/08 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 2 the neighborhood of Las Conchas
This trip was focused on the construction of 3 homes in the communities surrounding Guatemala City. These homes were built for families and children who are living in extreme poverty. A team of 12 individuals traveled to Guatemala to work on the construction and to minister to those in need. In addition to the building projects, and in partnership with Shalom Church, the team visited with families, distributed Bibles and shared the Gospel throughout the local communities. Related post.
05/30/08 - 06/07/08 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 1 the neighborhood of Las Conchas
Homes were built for families and children who are living in extreme poverty. A team of 32 individuals traveled to Guatemala to begin the construction and to minister to those in need. In addition to the building projects, and in partnership with Shalom Church, the team visited with families, distributed Bibles and shared the Gospel throughout the local communities. Seven homes were built and many lives were saved through Christ. Related post.
06/17/07 - 06/24/07 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 3 the neighborhood of Las Conchas
The third construction trip in a series, this mission team worked to complete the construction efforts began by the previous two teams. Fifteen team members traveled together to Guatemala to finish the homes and minister to the families. With the support of Shalom Church, the team also visited homes built by Shalom Foundation volunteers in past years. They prayed with the families, distributed Bibles and shared the Gospel with those in need. Related post.

On the heels of the prior trip, this team traveled to Guatemala to continue the construction work began by the May team. The 11 team members also visited with families, distributed Bibles and shared the Gospel at every opportunity. With the support of Shalom Church, the team provided love, prayer and encouragement to children and families in the local community. Related post.
05/25/07 - 06/02/07 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 1 the neighborhood of Las Conchas
This trip focused on the construction of 7 homes in the areas surrounding Guatemala City for impoverished families and children who did not have adequate shelter or protection from the weather and other dangers. A team of 30 individuals traveled to Guatemala to begin the construction and to minister to those in need. In addition to the building projects, and in partnership with Shalom Church, the team visited with families, distributed Bibles and shared the Gospel at every opportunity. Many members of this team plan to return in 2008. Related post.
07/22/06 - 07/29/06 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 2 The Shalom School
This trip focused on much needed construction at Shalom School. Projects included moving earth for the placement of additional classrooms and digging footings for additional construction. This small team of 7 individuals made a huge impact on the children as they shared the love of Christ with those in need. Related post.
05/26/06 - 06/03/06 Community Development Trips in Community Development – Team 1 Neighborhoods in Guatemala City
This trip focused on the construction of multiple homes in the areas surrounding Guatemala City for impoverished children and their families who did not have adequate shelter or protection from the weather and other dangers. The team of 33 individuals worked throughout the week on 7 homes while providing hope and encouragement to these families living in need. The team distributed clothing and Bibles and shared the Gospel with those in the area. It was a life-changing trip for many. Related post.

A team of 43 individuals traveled to Guatemala to begin the construction and to minister to those in need.
