The Moore Pediatric Surgery Center

Opened in March 2011, The Moore Pediatric Surgery Center is the base of operations for Shalom’s Medical Program and serves children from across Guatemala. The surgical center is located at 6 calle 0-55 Zone 1 of Guatemala City, a location convenient to many parts of the city.
This 12,000 square foot facility offers 3 operating rooms, 6 pre-op beds, 2 intensive care unit beds and 21 recovery beds. The center offers all expected working spaces such as the Family Waiting Room, Pre-Op Rooms, Nurses Stations, PACU, Pharmacy, Changing Areas, Surgical Instrument Storage, Kitchen and Laundry.
Reconstruction continues. Some equipment and supplies are still needed. Much has been provided through other medical groups and non-profit organizations. Contributions of equipment are key to successfully outfitting the center.
The facility hosts medical and surgical teams from a variety of disciplines and over time may be open for clinics of various specialties.
